Kids with autism are like a rainbow. There are so many different color shades and tints. Some kids can talk, some can't. I can talk well now since I've been practicing and have been going to speech therapy for a long, long time. When children like me can't talk, they get very frustrated because they can't say what they want. My family made me a communication board that helped me show what I wanted. I can point to each thing like food, toys, help, and basic needs. When I was able to use this board, the therapists made me try the DynaVox MT4. It was neat because when I pushed a button, it talked for me to my parents. There are new types of boxes available and there are new tablets like iPads so you can download the apps for a price.
What is your favorite app on a tablet or another device to use for communication? I would love to hear from you on the poll on the side of this blog.
